June 2022 marked a spectacular edition for the Groupe Copley World Triathlon as it hosted the World Triathlon Sprint and Relay Championships in Old Montreal, seeing some 1500 international amateur athletes as well as the world’s elite will compete for the title of World Champion.
The World Triathlon competition venue, located at Le Grand Quai of the Port of Montreal, was at the heart of an impressive show for spectators, who, in their thousands lined a course which navigated the the city streets of Montreal – as well as being broadcast across the world (including some impressive helicopter shots!)
In addition to being the World Championship event in its own right, the wins earned in Montreal were the first quota spots in any sport ahead of the next Olympic Games, making it an extra special event to be part of.
Samantha Percival took part in the 30-34 Age Group competition representing Great Britain in her first international triathlon event, putting on a very impressive performance and an incredible result for her inaugural World Championship event.
It was an honour to support Samantha to ensure that she was able to compete in this incredible event and be there to see her cross her line and witness this unique opportunity to increase brand awareness! As an added bonus (with CJPI’s work in the emergency planning and delivery of complex event medicine) it also meant that we were able to research the medical facilities put in place by World Triathlon and engage with local event healthcare providers in Canada.
